2017 Cocks
In this group of photos, there are but some of the 65 Heitzman Sion Cocks which will be utilized as the top breeders in the 2017 NO SWEAT LOFTS breeding program. If one were able to go back in time and visit the Charles Heitzman lofts in the 1960's when Mr. Heitzman was possibly at the very top of his racing career, these are almost exactly the same-identical quality racers one would have seen. These are magnificent racers both only in flying long-distances but also in body and beauty.
AU-2017--KY--110 Blue Check Splash Cock
AU-2017--KY--110 Blue Check splash cock. This pigeon is out of a brick red hen which is out of my "RED PAIR." And his father is a black check splash cock with black eyes. One of the most gorgeous and perfect pigeons I have ever owned. 110 is a perfect blend of the two parent birds, even showing his blend of coloration between the two. Like his gather, he has the classic Sion "Black Eyes." 110 is a perfectly structured racing pigeon, absolutely perfect in every way, He has perhaps the best overall balance of any YB I reared in 2017. 110 was a June hatch. He was permitted almost NO open loft. When I returned from Florida in September 2016, I took him 50 miles on his first toss and he was slow in coming home. On the next toss two weeks later which was around 120 miles, he was my first bird home. Three weeks later, he was taken by Sam Miller and myself to Jenkins, Florida, and released under black clouds and headwinds with 49 other YBs. That day, the YBs broke up into small groups and flew very low, scattering in every direction. The state of Georgia, which was on the line of flight for 110 to come home, was having a clear and very hot day, and in Tennessee there was horrible dense, purple fog and steady drizzle-rain all through the 150 miles of The Smokey Mountains. In Kentucky, the skies were a dark grey with a steady rain which lasted for nearly two days. At noon on the second day, 110 came into the NO SWEAT LOFTS alone. He was worn down but not totally whipped. His flight back was nothing short of a miracle and I consider it one of the greatest flights I have ever observed by ANY racing pigeon once all matters are taken into full consideration. Of the 49 YBs which were released, 8 birds were home after a month. 110 handles like a dream. He is exactly what every racing pigeon man searches for in a great breeder. He owns a fantastic wing structure. I currently have him slated to be mated back to a black check Heitzman Sion hen with black eyes, closely related to him.
