2017 Hens
In 2017, NO SWEAT LOFTS will be breeding from 65 pair of racers. Of the 130 racers,100 of them have flown 500 or 600 miles. The racers are selected primarily on performance. NO SWEAT LOFTS now feel their colony of HEITZMAN SIONS to be the finest assembly of long-distance racers in the world They are the end result of more than one hundred years of selective breeding by Paul Sion, Charles Heitzman and Robbie Robbins.
Sweet Silver
"SWEET SILVER" IF-2016-FOYS- 14491. Late Hatch. Bred By NO SWEAT LOFTS. HEITZMAN SION.
"SWEET SILVER" is the end result of four grandparents which all flew 600 MILES. "HARD CORE" SBC, "LONGWINGS, BCH, "RESOLVE" RCC and "CHATTANOOGA" PENCIL SPLASH H. "SWEET SILVER" is a very small hen which will be an important breeder for the 2017 NO SWEAT LOFTS 2017 Breeding program. She has 100% the exact same blood as did the young hen which was first home from 500 this year and the two blue check young hens which also flew the same 500 Miles in 2016.

The Black Eye Sion Hen
"THE BLACK EYE SION HEN" AU-2014-KY-74 BLUE BAR HEN. HEITZMAN SION. BRED BY ROBBIE ROBBINS, NO SWEAT LOFTS. "The Black Eye Hen" flew 300 and 500 as a YOUNG BIRD in 2014 along with several of her full brothers and sisters. Both of her Blue Bar parents were 500 Mile Young Birds. Her black eye blue bar sister, AU-2014-KY-35 BBH, bred two different silver mealies which flew well in two different young bird series in 2016. One being in Indiana and the other in North Carolina. KY-74 is one the most nice and interesting hens that THE NO SWEAT LOFTS have ever bred. Not only does she appear and handle like a dream but also she owns "black colored eyes" which have long been noted by die-hard Sion specialist as that eye to have in racing; many of he original Paul Sions had this eye which derived down from a gris mealy known as LE ROUSELETTE. And LE ROUSELETTE was recognized as possibly the greatest racer which ever lived during that pigeon's time. Charles Heitzman was able to obtain some of this blood through Lou Curtis and now in 2017, this blood still holds well within the Sion colony at The No Sweat Lofts. Of the 150 Sions currently within this colony, THREE Blue Bars own this "black eye." Actually this eye is not black. But when the light is at certain angles the eyes do indeed appear to be black. In this grouping of photographs showing KY-74 one is able to actually see down into this particular eye and note that the eye is not black at all. But still, quite unusual with its particular colors and formation. In 2017, KY-74 is being mated to a Blue Check Cock, "OCALA" which is shown on those website. Their young birds should be medium in size with soft feathering and excellent bod confirmation. and probably, around half of them will have the black eyes."
"CHATTANOOGA " Blue Pencil Splash Hen HEITZMAN SION BRED BY NO SWEAT
Chattanooga is one of the finest racing pigeons I have ever owned. As a YB she was caught by a hawk and disappeared into the woods. This took place in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on a 200 mile release. The next day she returned back to the loft with one tail feather and a large gash across her chest. The following year, she was taken 600 air miles and released in Florida on a clear day which had 90 degree plus heat and 20 MPH direct headwinds. Three days later, she returned back to the loft completely saturated in oil and tar. After that performance, she was permanently retired. Of the 158m pigeons which were released on that 600, only 8 ever returned.
Chattanooga is a small hen, straight Heitzman Sion, down from his GLORY bloodlines which owned LE-ROI blood. She has feathered legs and dark chestnut eyes. She covers perfectly and has bone tight vents. She owns some of the finest wings I have ever seen on any pigeon in all my life. She is bred from two outstanding 500 milers. Her nest-mate brother was very close in winning the AU CONVENTION RACE when it was held in Boston. Chattanooga is very intelligent pigeon, quiet and observant.
I have kept Chattanooga bred to a red check Heitzman Sion which flew 600 miles as a YB; his name is "RESOLVE." This mating has produced many beautiful racing pigeons, many of which have been strawberry mealies; one won a 300 mile race in Florida for an old Heitzman Sion lover. Three years ago, I mated a brick red son out of this mating back onto a light red check hen out of HARD CORE and LONGWINGS, both of which flew 600 miles as YBs. The babies which have been coming from this pair of reds that I now call "MY RED PAIR" have been flying tremendous the past two years when released at 500 Miles. A blue hen from them last year was my first of 8 day bird (all YBs) to fly home. And this year, the only two babies I sent of theirs--two blue check hens--both came back in good time.
If I had to put a single word on CHATTANOOGA to describe her it would be, CLASS. She reeks with it. These are some photos I took of her today. She is now 8 years of age and of course I highly value any young bird she produces.

BLACK-EYED BLACK CHECK HEITZMAN SION HEN
This is a group of photographs which I took of my only black check Sion hen I have in 2017. She is a pure old Heitzman Sion, hatched in July and was NOT flown and stocked. She happens to be a FULL SISTER to KY-11 Blue check whfl splash cock which was my first YOUNG BIRD from 500 this year. This black-eyed black check Sion is PERFECT in every way; tight vents, closed back, excellent feather and she has a gorgeous black lacing coloration covering much of her entire body. She is out of a brick red hen and a black check white flight splash cock: both 500 milers and all four grandparents of this hen are either 500 or 600 milers. Plans are to breed from this hen in 2016. She is being kept in my "RED BLOOD" loft as she is of this blood. But she is a little larger and more powerful than most of the hens I have of this genetic make-up. She is one of the finest Heitzman Sion physical specimens ever bred by The No Sweat Lofts."
AU--2014--KY--33 BLUE BAR HEN
This is a picture of one of THE NO SWEAT LOFTS Blue hens which has BLACK EYES. This hen flew 500 as a YOUNG BIRD, as did most of her brothers and sisters. In 2016, she was mated to a very small odd-colored mealy cock and they bred a small mealy which nearly won the 150 BOW RACE in Indiana. AND for a good flier in North Carolina, another YB from her was his first bird back on the 200. This hen has not only flown 500 she is also an excellent breeder of racers. Both of her parents were 500 Milers. Her father won 3 of the 5 races he was in as a YB. Her mother flew 600 as a YB , coming back from OCALA, Florida back to Richmond, Kentucky. Both are straight old HEITZMAN SIONS. .33 is a large hen with open vents. Despite her size and vent structure she has proven to be an excellent pigeon. She is a classic old time straight Charles Heitzman Sion in every minute way. In 2017 she is being bred back to a medium sized blue cock which flew 500 as a YB.
