THE SLICK RED PAIR

11/6/2016

These five photographs are of a pair of red Heitzman Sions which were bred by Robbie Robbins will be mated together and used as a breeding pair in 2017 for the No Sweat Lofts. The brick red cock is banded, AU-2016-KY-180 and was bred for stock. He is out of a black splash cock who is the son of one of the finest long- distance racers which won three long-distance COMBINE RACES back to back three weeks in a row. And his mother is a brick red  hen bred straight from "THE RED PAIR."  180 is a medium- small sized pigeon with exceptional "slick" feathering, very typical of this particular linage of superior, long-distance Sions which the No Sweat Lofts are developing within their own Heitzman Sion strain.  The light red check hen is AU-2014-KY-187; she is a direct daughter of "HARD CORE" SBC, 600 Miles as a YOUNG BIRD and "LONGWINGS," Blue Check Hen, 600 Miles as a YOUNG BIRD.  187 flew 500 as a YOUNG BIRD and is a full sister to the light red check hen which is the hen in "THE RED PAIR."  The No Sweat Lofts will be expecting great long-distance young birds in 2017 coming from this mating. These two pigeons classically typify the exact kind of new -looking Sions which are now being created by the NO SWEAT LOFTS. Note their easily recognizable and  very distinct type which this family presents. In 2017, the No Sweat Lofts are expecting to breed as many as 100 of these young birds which will be of this family and likely 50 or more will be brick reds in color; they will be so amazingly so close in appearance as to appear if they all were cut from the same cookie cutter. Withing this blood lies the finest long-distance YOUNG BIRDS in North America.

Dear Bob,

I am experiencing the very best year in breeding racing homers ever in my life; the numbers and quality are really incredible.
Yes, of course, I would be happy to sell young birds from any pair I own. I do such on a normal basis. The demand for them this year has been nothing short of phenomenal. Several fanciers asking for birds from me for their third time. I always make absolute certain tat anyone who gets any pigeons from me loves them and is extremely happy.
Most of my reds are fairly close related as are my silvers. Most of my silvers all have a silver cock in their pedigree that flew 6 five hundred mile races and three 600 mile races. He was a special pigeon. Powder silver with unusual grey eyes full of all manner of designs and colors.
Many of my reds are going back on HARD CORE which is a wonderful silver mealy cock that was my first bird home--as a YONG BIRD---from 600 miles----158 poisons were released that day--that was in October, 2010. His blood runs all through my five lofts.
The best buy on birds from me is usually in July or in October as then I either have late hatches which I can sell very reasonable, or I am trying to cut the numbers down in the fall to winter over. In each case, that is always a good time/s. I get different prices on birds depending on which birds are wanted and how many.
For four late hatches, I would want $400. For 12 late hatches, $1,000.
I sell breeders anywhere from $150 a bird to ten grand a bird. The bigger money usually comes from over seas; China, Japan, etc. My Heitzman Sions are flying very well at long distances all over the world.
It is best to email me directly at: [email protected] in order to reach me.
My latest book, SINGER ISLAND AND ERNEST HEMINGWAY has been released since Saint Patrick's Day---it has a lot in it on my Sions---you can get BOTH volumes on Amazon; the third volume will appear this fall.
Blessings,
ROBBIE ROBBINS

Hello, Mr. Robbins.
My name is Reinaldo, it is a pleasure to contact you. I am interested in purchasing 1 or 2 couple of 100% silver Sion. I tried to contact you by email but it has been very difficult and impossible. If you could help me, I would be very grateful.

Sincerely,
Reinaldo

Thank you for carrying on the Heitzman legacy. When I was a kid I bought birds from him through the mail for $1.00. That was 1961. Sions and Stassarts were always my favorites. I bought 2 Pletinckx from him at that time for $10.00. I still have some books I purchased also on Sions and Stassarts. I raced in St. Louis for 20 years. Thanks again.

I knew heitzman in 1961. I do not recall his selling birds for one dollar each. Even then. Heitzman sold his birds normally a bit higher than most fanciers. And always easily sold every bird he was willing to let go. Because of a constant strong demand link
